Rosemary Williams Wells Twiford

October 19, 2023, 84, Goldsboro —

Rosemary Williams Wells Twiford, 84, passed away peacefully at WakeMed Hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2023. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina to the late Beecher Albert Williams and Hazel Bender Williams on November 20, 1938. In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her beloved husband and father of her daughters, Jeptha Rose Wells, and her second husband, Clement W. Twiford; brother, Al Williams; and son-in-law, Greg Heath.

Having found her soulmate and sweetheart, Rosemary married the love of her life and the two created a happy life together in Wayne County. They instilled in their girls the values of family and hard work. Jep and Rosemary were also a team for many years as they worked in their insurance and real estate businesses.

Following Jep’s passing, Rosemary married Clement Twiford and the two enjoyed the life they built together in Fayetteville and later in Hampstead. Clem and Rosemary felt truly blessed to spend time at Topsail Beach and Emma Anderson Memorial Chapel. They made many precious memories with family and friends at this special place.

In 2019, Rosemary moved to Raleigh in order to be closer to her daughters. She made many new friendships during her time at Waltonwood Lake Boone–and especially enjoyed having dinner with her girlfriends. Waltonwood proved to be the perfect home for Rosemary in her final years.

Rev. E. C. Mattocks will conduct the graveside service to celebrate Rosemary’s life at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.

Rosemary is survived by her daughters, Pam Wells King of Goldsboro and Jill Wells Heath of Raleigh; grandchildren, Julie Rose Ivey and husband, David Talley of Hillsborough and Samuel Gregory Wells Heath of Brooklyn, NY; great-granddaughter, Addison Rose Talley; and brother, Donald H. Williams and wife, Bebe of Clinton. She is also survived by her step-children, Babette O’Brien and husband, Michael of Duluth, GA and Dallas C. Twiford and wife, Diane of Chuluota, FL; and step-grandchildren, Cory, Connor and Jessie O’Brien, Dallas Twiford, Jr. and wife, Kayla and Emma Twiford.
