October 12, 2023, 65, Pikeville —

Donna Wooten Mooring, 65, made her way to Heaven on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was born in Wayne County on October 1, 1958, to the late Robert F. and Edna Jones Westbrook Wooten.

Donna’s love for children led her to a career teaching with the Wayne County Public School System. She worshiped and served her Lord and Savior in many ways as a member of Pikeville Church.

Family was first and foremost in Donna’s life. Though she treasured her children as precious jewels, her grandchildren were truly the lights of her life. Her spirits were lifted and her will to live was strengthened each time her grandchildren were visiting.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Pikeville Church followed by a service to celebrate Donna’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Mark Whitfield officiating.

Donna is survived by her husband of 44 years, Garry Mooring; daughters, Erin Rae Mooring Jackson and husband, Andrew and Casi Lynn Mooring Harrison and husband, John; grandchildren, Anna Grace Jackson, Ethan Andrew Jackson, and Ayden Timothy Jackson; and brother, Robbie Wooten.
