October 12, 2023, 91, Mount Olive —

Marie Williams Roberts, 91, of the Beautancus community near Mount Olive, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, October 12, 2023. Death came as she was being loved and cared for in her home by her family.

Mrs. Roberts, born in Wayne County and raised in the Pricetown/Seven Springs area, was an excellent homemaker and farm wife. While her main goal was to be a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister to her family, she had been a licensed practical nurse with employment in the newborn baby department at Wayne Memorial Hospital while maintaining homemaking and farming duties at home..

Preceded in death by her husband, Boyden P. Roberts; her father, Robert Lee Williams; her mother, Kitty Harris Williams Brogden,, she leaves behind three children and their spouses, Murray and Vicky Roberts of Mount Olive, Beth R. and Woody McLamb of Clinton, and Rosemary R. and Carl Massey of Newton Grove; three grandsons and their wives, Richard and Crystal Roberts of Clayton, Adam Roberts of Mount Olive, and David and Monica Eldridge of Pink Hill; great-grandchildren, Sloane Roberts of Clayton, Boyden Eldridge, Metta Eldridge, and Wesley Bland Holmes, all of Pink Hill; and a sister, Nancy W. Crapster of Salisbury.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 14, and will be officiated by Pastor Jeff Dail, The family will receive friends at the church during the hour before the service, and at other times at the Roberts home. Burial will be held privately at Wayne Memorial Park.
