Arrest Made in Breaking and Entering, Larceny Case

On the following dates, May 7, July 2, and Sept. 15 the Goldsboro Police Department responded to alarm activations at Sam’s Club at 2811 N. Park Drive. An unknown subject broke in through the front window and went to the jewelry area. The subject then smashed open jewelry cases and took numerous items of jewelry. He then fled the area in a small gold car.

On Oct. 3 and Oct. 4, the Goldsboro Police Department responded to alarm calls at Boulevard Pawn at 300 N. Randolph St. On Oct. 3, an unknown subject broke in through a window and attempted to smash open a glass case. The subject was unsuccessful and left the area. On Oct. 4, the same subject returned and attempted to break in again.

He was unsuccessful and was apprehended by Goldsboro Police Department “C” Shift and charged with Attempted Breaking and Entering. He was identified as Donte Gevon Davis.

Upon further investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department Investigations Division, it was determined that all the above crimes were committed by the same person. The Investigations Division obtained a search warrant for Davis’ residence and vehicle. The search warrant was served at 11:45 a.m., on Oct. 13 by the Goldsboro Police Department with the assistance of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Davis was arrested at his residence without incident.

Davis was charged with four counts of breaking and entering, and three counts of felony larceny. Davis is being held without bond.
