Rebecca Allen “Becky” Price

October 4, 2023, 77, Goldsboro —

Rebecca Allen “Becky” Price, 77, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. She was born in Wayne County on February 17, 1946, to the late Donald and Jacqueline Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Steve Price and Buddy Horton; and brother, Don Allen.

Becky worked alongside Steve in their State Farm Insurance Agency in Goldsboro. Her friendly demeanor was the perfect addition to the workplace, as she assisted customers with her vast knowledge and genuine care.

For Becky, the beach was a place that constantly called her name. Given the option of going anywhere in the world, there’d be no question that she would choose a beach. The crashing of waves and gentle breeze was indeed therapy for the soul.

Family was always the top priority in Becky’s life, and she knew every moment spent with them was a blessing from God. The love she had for each one of them was multiplied back to her in the love each held for her. For her family, she was the best mama and grandma.

An extension of Becky’s family was her close friends with whom she looked forward to spending time. Fellowship and a good meal were always enjoyed as her group gathered often at the Lantern Inn.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 8, 2023, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Becky’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 9, 2023, in the sanctuary of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Whitfield and Rev. Mary Kay Best officiating. The interment will be in Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs, NC.

Becky is survived by her daughter, Joy Horton Jacobs; son, Allen Horton, and wife, Shannon; step-son, Scott Price and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Will Horton, Avery Horton, and Davis Price; sister, Mary Frances Posey and husband, Ted; brother, Mac Allen and wife, Joy; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by her caregivers and friends: Linda Hunt, Pam Pressley, and Julia Williams.
