Harold David Jones, 80, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at ECU Health in Greenville. Harold was born in Riverdale, Maryland on April 12, 1943, one of six children, to the late Charles Harold Jones and Laura Weaver Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Laura B. Jones; son, Kevin Lee Jones; and brothers, Charles, Ralph, Bernard, and Buddy Jones.

Harold was always working on something. He could fix nearly everything that was put before him. Harold spent his career in maintenance at St. Mary Catholic School and at the Water Department in Maryland. He was definitely a jack of all trades, but he was a master of one — small engines. That was his true gift and he excelled in it.

Harold was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He loved the Lord and sought to follow God by serving Him and others. Harold gave all of himself to take care of those around him. For many years, Harold was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of St. Mary Catholic Parish.

Harold is survived by his son, Lawrence David Jones; daughter, Katie Jones Hildreth and husband Glen; grandchildren, Kellie Jones, Gavin Hildreth, Parker Hildreth, and Camden Hildreth; and brother, Frank Jones.
