Goldsboro Police Involved in Monday Night High-Speed Chase

Officers from the Goldsboro Police Department were involved in a high-speed chase around 11:10 p.m. on Oct. 9.

According to police reports, Mark Gregory Jr., 22, was driving on U.S. Hwy 70 West at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. Gregory Jr. failed to heed to officers’ blue lights, and as he began to turn right onto Springwood Dr., Gregory Jr. left 83 feet of skid marks, before running off the right side of the road.

Gregory Jr.’s vehicle ultimately crashed into a metal fence that had two concrete barriers on the side. The crash initially left Gregory Jr. unconscious, and he was later taken into custody, and transported to Wayne UNC Health.
