Early Voting Continues Through Oct. 7

As the municipal election scheduled for Oct. 10 quickly approaches, the deadline for early voting is less than a week away.

Early voting continues through Oct. 7 at the Wayne County Public Library located at 1001 E. Ash Street. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day through Oct. 6, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 7.

Voters will be asked to show a photo ID when they vote. All voters will be allowed to vote with or without ID. Anyone lacking an ID can get one for free from their county board of elections. To learn more visit ncsbe.gov/voter-id.

Absentee ballots began being mailed to voters who requested them on Sept. 8. A voter may fill out an absentee ballot. A voter may fill out an absentee ballot request at voterbymail.ncsbe.gov, or by filling out a request form provided by the board of elections.

The request must be received through the website or by the Wayne County Board of Elections by 5 p.m. on Oct. 3.

Registered voters who live within the boundaries of the City of Goldsboro may vote in the municipal election. Municipal contests include the Mayor and District 5.

Eligible individuals who did not register by the Sept. 15 deadline may register and vote at any early voting site during the early voting period. New registrants will be required to provide documentation of their residence.
