Cecil King Francisco passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was born June 13, 1925, in Halifax County, Virginia to the late Joseph King and Mary Jude Francisco. He was married to Elizabeth (Lib) Crisp Francisco for 55 years and had one son, Joe.

Cecil served in the United States Navy during World War II, stationed in the Philippines. After his term in the Navy, he attended Smithdeal Massey Business College and worked at the Halifax County Public School System in Virginia in printing and Cafeteria Services.

Cecil was a member of the First Baptist Church in South Boston, VA. After relocating to Goldsboro, he and Lib faithfully attended and served at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was dedicated to serving his church and his Lord by participating in various roles. Cecil was actively involved in Gideons International as a member of the Goldsboro North Camp. His love for God’s word was not only displayed by his involvement in distributing scripture but it was also seen in his daily scripture reading as he diligently followed the Gideon Scripture Reading Plan to read through the Bible.

Cecil was a quiet man but knew how to cheer on his team. As an avid football fan, he always rooted for his beloved Washington Redskins and VA Tech Hokies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary Francisco; sisters, Anita Elliott and Avis Jones; and brother, Al Francisco, all of South Boston, VA.

Cecil is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Francisco; son, Joe Francisco (Becky) of Clayton, NC; two granddaughters, Brooke Cason (Tyler) of Smithfield, NC, and Brianna Francisco of Clayton, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 29, 2023, at The First Pentecostal Holiness, Church1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534. A service to celebrate Cecil’s life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary with Rev. Bill Rose and Rev. John Howard officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all of Cecil’s caregivers from Gentiva Hospice and United Home Health. Words cannot describe the excellent care you provided and the assistance you gave to Cecil and our family. Your loving care will never be forgotten.
