NCDOT Holding Annual Litter Sweep

Every April and September the North Carolina Department of Transportation asks volunteers across the state to help the state remove litter from roadsides.

Volunteers take time out of their busy schedules and are crucial to keeping our state beautiful and clean.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our program, it’s what makes our state so wonderful, and your help is what’s going to make North Carolina successful,” said NCDOT Roadside Environmental Engineer. David Harris.

NCDOT’s annual litter sweep goes through Sept. 30.
Over the past two years, NCDOT has collected nearly 20 million pounds of litter. For more details or how you can participate, go to NCDOT Litter Sweep.
