Christine Hooks Bryan, 90, of Rosewood transitioned into rest on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, in Pine Forest Church by Rev. Tabitha Pate with a visitation one hour prior in the fellowship hall. A burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Bryan was born in Johnston County to the late Jesse Lee Hooks and Ruby Lee Jackson Hooks. She graduated from Kenly High School and graduated from The Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, Tennessee. She was an active member of Pine Forest Church, a devoted member of the Methodist Church, and actively involved in the Prayer Shaw Ministry, soup kitchen, and many more.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Bryan was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Everette E. Bryan.

Christine is survived by her two daughters: Marilyn B. Draughon and husband Johnnie Earl of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Glenda B. Bowen of Rosewood, North Carolina, a sister; Jean Hooks Howard of Colonial Heights, Virginia, three grandchildren; Faith Bowen Pittard and husband David of Inman, South Carolina, Rhys Tyler Draughon of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Erica Draughon Scutt and husband Bill of Yadkinville, North Carolina, four great-grandchildren; Conner Scutt, William Scutt, Ian Scutt all from Yadkinville, North Carolina, and Daniel Reinhart of Chesterfield, VA.
