Habitat for Humanity Goldsboro-Wayne Hosting Military and Candidate Builds

Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne is hosting a pair of builds in the next two months intended to connect with the local military community, as well as political candidates.

The military build is open to active and retired military as well as military spouses and is being held Sept. 8, at 8:30 a.m. at 611 Marshall Street in Goldsboro.

“We are having a military build on Sept. 8 to coincide with Freedom Fest,” said LaToya Stallings of Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne. “We are looking to engage local veterans, active duty soldiers as well as military spouses in the construction of our homes.”

Habitat has also invited all candidates in the local mayoral and city council elections to participate in a candidate build at 8:30 a.m., on Oct. 4, at 611 Marshall Street.

“In both events, we want to give different segments of our community the opportunity to support our families in building their homes and to witness, first hand, the benefits of programs such as Habitat,” said Stallings.

Candidates interested in participating must RSVP by Sept. 30 by emailing [email protected].
