On the afternoon of Aug. 20, firefighters from Indian Springs, Pricetown, Seven Springs and Mount Olive were dispatched to a working agricultural structure fire near the intersection of Pineview Cemetery Road and Arrington Bridge Road on the Parks Farm.
Heavy smoke could be seen from several miles as fire personnel arrived on the scene. The
structure was a large shelter containing farming equipment, and it was fully engulfed by the blaze. Firefighters began to drop the attack line on the ground to gain control over the intense heat from the
fire.
Firefighters using a code one had to shuttle water by tanker from a nearby hydrant to supply several engines on the scene. A Wayne County EMS unit was on standby at the scene.
