United Way of Wayne County (UWWC) is announcing funding support for 2024 to local nonprofits operating in Wayne County. The Notice of Funding Opportunity and additional information about the grant are published on the agency’s website.
The awards that will be made under this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) are designed to address issues affecting UWWC’s four focus areas: basic needs, education, health and wellness, and financial stability.
Eligible applicants are organizations that are tax-exempt under the IRS Code 501(c)(3), incorporated in the State of North Carolina as a non-profit, render charitable, philanthropic, health, character-building, and/or social welfare services in Wayne County, and demonstrate the effectiveness of their programs based upon successful program outcomes. Individuals or for-profit entities are not eligible for funding under this NOFO.
Nonprofits who wish to apply for funding must attend one of two virtual orientation sessions to be invited to apply. Orientation sessions will be held on Aug. 21 at 4:00 p.m. and Aug.25 at 9:00 a.m. The sessions will provide information on the grant process, including how to navigate its grant management portal, e-CImpact. To register for an orientation session visit unitedwayne.org/nonprofits and select the session preferred. Only nonprofit agencies that attended the orientation will submit a pre-qualification application. Agencies who passed the pre-qualification process will then be asked to submit a full application in e-CImpact.
United Way of Wayne County anticipates it will begin making awards in January 2024. UWWC anticipates strong demand for this funding and encourages applicants to work with the agency’s grant coordinator to prepare and register for orientations and submit applications in a timely manner.
