Mrs. Hettie V. McCullen, 75, kept the faith and received her heavenly reward on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. The celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 12:00 pm at the Church Of God And True Holiness, 611 Whitfield Drive, Goldsboro, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Hwy 117 South, Dudley, NC. There will be a chapel visitation held on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
She was born in Wayne County, NC on November 13, 1947, to Lena Mae Taylor and David Lee Smith. She is survived by her loving husband, Council L. McCullen to whom she was married for nearly 57 years; four children: Darleen McCullen, Alvin McCullen, Adria McCullen, and Andre McCullen; six grandchildren: Laquacia McCullen, Christopher McDuffie, Jr., Phillip McDuffie, Egypt Bunn, Iz’Rill Bunn, and Perry Bunn, Jr.; three siblings: Rebecca (Alfonzo Sr.) Manley, Louise Broadie, and Jennie King; one aunt, Bessie Oates.
