Wayne County Clinches Spot in State Tournament

KINSTON – Wayne County Post 11 clinched a spot in the North Carolina American Legion state tournament with an 8-3 win over Kinston Post 43 on Wednesday night.

Post 11 (30-6) advances to the state tournament which is being held July 25-29 at Jim Perry Stadium on the campus of Campbell University. Wayne County is scheduled to begin play in the state tournament at 4 p.m. on July 25, against the winner of today’s game between Rowan County and High Point.

Post 11 concludes its home schedule tonight as it hosts the Tar Heel Royals at 7 at the C35 complex.
