Evelyn “Faye” Brock Darden, 82, passed away in Poquoson, VA on July 11, 2023. Born in Johnston County on May 24, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Albert James Brock and Mittie Massey Brock.

Faye worked for many years with the Goldsboro News-Argus and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base food service. She attended Living Word Full Gospel Church in Dudley, NC. Faye enjoyed listening to gospel music, reading her bible, and spending time with family and friends.

A service to celebrate Faye’s life will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Services will conclude at Wayne Memorial Park.

Faye is survived by two sons, Charles H. Darden, Jr., and Joseph Darden; granddaughters, Beth (Brandon), Christy (Angel), and Alaina (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Autumn, Ashlynn, Tyler, Kaitlynn, Jaxon, Liam, Thalia and Sebastian; brother, Glenn Brock; and sister, Joyce Gray. Faye is also survived by several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, especially Sandy and her best friend Liz.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Darden Sr.; daughter, Elizabeth Diane Winder; brothers, Albert Brock, Jr., and Willie Brock; and sister Carolyn Rose Aldridge.
