On June 23rd, deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on the Hwy 70 Bypass.

The vehicle in question failed to stop for blue lights and sirens and a brief vehicle pursuit occurred before the vehicle in question crashed in the 1300 Block of South George Street in Goldsboro.

The driver, Rahsaan Curry fled from the vehicle and a brief foot pursuit occurred. Curry was apprehended without incident. Malachi Deshawn O’Neal was inside of the vehicle and was found in possession of a stolen firearm. Both Curry and O’Neal were arrested and charged accordingly.

Both Curry and O’Neal were placed in the Wayne County Jail under secured bonds
