Carla Patricia Hinson received her eternal healing on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. She was born in Lenoir County to Richard Carl Hinson, Jr. and Cleo Singleton Hinson on January 26, 1968.

Family was an essential aspect of Pat’s life. She loved her nieces and nephew as if they were her own children. Aunt Pat always had open arms and an open lap. Some of the most precious times were had during their Sunday visits together. Dog-sitting her “fur-nephew,” Jake, brought much joy to Pat’s heart.

An avid reader, Pat enjoyed many genres of writing but particularly appreciated the study of her Bible. Due to declining physical health, Pat was not always able to attend church in person. However, she faithfully participated in church online at the church in which she was a member, La Grange First Free Will Baptist Church. She often used her time alone to express her artistry through painting or drawing. She would create beautiful note cards to share with family and friends and paint an adored portrait of her sweet Jake.

With a warm and welcoming personality, Pat greeted patients at Lenoir Memorial Hospital as the Registration Supervisor from the time she was in high school until her retirement. She was a dedicated employee and beloved coworker.

As Pat’s health declined, it may have been easy for her to complain or become discouraged, but she did not allow it to dampen her spirits. Through it all, she used Philippians 4:11 as her motto: “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am in, therewith to be content.”

A service of love and remembrance will be held by the graveside at Fairview Cemetery on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. with Pastors Ronnie Hobgood and Chris Singleton officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

In addition to her parents, Pat is survived by her sister, Amy Hinson Burke and husband, Ray; nieces Ashleigh Woolard (Taylor) and Anna Baird (Luke); nephew, Drew Burke (Haley); and great-nieces, Whitlee, Lainey, and Chloe Grace.
