Driver Arrested After Traffic Stop Nets Drugs & Firearm

A Dudley man was arrested and charged with multiple drug and gun-related offenses after a traffic stop. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force conducted a traffic stop and found that 31 year old Jacquarius Sequan Howell had open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. Deputies then conducted a probable cause search and found Howell to have a firearm and a large amount of Ecstasy. Additional controlled substances were also found inside the vehicle. Howell was arrested on the scene and charged with Felony Level I Trafficking by Possession and Transportation of MDMA, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Carrying a Concealed Handgun, Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and Possession of an Open Container. Mr. Howell was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $525,000 secured bond.
