Doris Williams Hood, 81, of Goldsboro, was called to her heavenly home and reunited with her sons on Friday, June 2, 2023. Doris was born in Wayne County to the late Robert and Lois Westbrook Williams on October 6, 1941. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Kent Hood and Brent Hood; grandson, Matthew Hood; and brother, Terry Williams.

Doris was always focused on doing the Lord’s work and bringing God glory. She was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church. Doris didn’t need to say anything, those around knew she was doing all she did for the God who had given her life and breath, and an eternal life she now enjoys. She was full of love for her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. They were her joy and her treasure. Doris lived her life to its fullest and can now rest from her labors.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, in Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Benton officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Doris is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ted Hood; daughters-in-law, Heather Hood and Elizabeth Hood; grandchildren, Parker Hood and Caitlin Hood Iris and husband, Jonathan; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Oliver Iris; brothers, Bobby Williams and wife, Janet and Edward Williams and wife, Brenda; and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
