Bobby Davis Braswell was welcomed into his Savior’s arms on Thursday, June 1, 2023. He was born and raised in Wayne County to the late Branston Rudolph Braswell and Katie Davis Braswell on October 23, 1951.

Bobby served his community as a Captain with the Goldsboro Rescue Squad and later as a Detective with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. Following his retirement, Bobby started his own business, Braswell Lawn Care. Bobby lived a life of service to his fellow man.

Commitment to his church, Victory Free Will Baptist Church, was essential to Bobby’s being. His love for the Lord was exhibited in his deep devotion and faithfulness to his church. Bobby proudly served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. No matter the need, Bobby stepped up to the plate to faithfully serve.

Bobby loved the beach and to be on the water was a happy place for him. This included fishing, boating or just sitting and watching the waves roll.

Bobby had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. He was a generous soul and had a big heart, willing to do anything to help anyone. The rock of his family, Bobby was deeply committed to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He instilled the importance of faith in Jesus and taught them many life lessons about the importance of a good work ethic. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he enjoyed every opportunity to spend time with them.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 4, 2023, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Victory Free Will Baptist Church, 1806 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro. A service to celebrate Bobby’s life will follow the time of visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Pastor Mike McAuley officiating.

Bobby is survived by his wife 52 years, Linda Worley Braswell; son, Brandon Scott Braswell, and wife, Sandra; daughter, Michelle Braswell Beach, and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Summer Beach, Hunter Beach, Emily Braswell, and Anna Braswell; and numerous cousins he loved very much.
