Wayne County Post 11 with Extra Inning Win

Wayne County Post 11 with Extra Inning Win

As the game entered extra innings, Wayne County managed to defeat Wilson after a spirited struggle. Wayne County won the game 2-1 thanks to crucial plays at the right time. With outstanding pitching and a strong outfield, the first four innings of the game went by quickly without a score before Wilson delivered the game’s opening blow in the top of the fifth inning.

Wilson was put in scoring position by Jake Flowers’ outfield double. Thomas Daniel then came to the plate and made a fantastic bunt to put himself on first and move the run up to third to fill the corners. Thomas Daniel stole second as Peyton Clay was at bat. Peyton waited for a pitch he liked before hitting an RBI double to the outfield to score the game’s first run and make it 1-0.

In the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings, Wayne County had a couple of chances to respond, but they were unable to take advantage of them. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when things became tough, they found a solution. Carter Aycock bunted a fantastic ball to help Colin Woolard advance and reach base after he hit a single to provide a small spark. A few throws later, Colin steals third to put Wilson under strain to keep an eye on him. Danny O’Brian tries to catch him at third, but he throws it poorly, allowing Colin to score easily to draw the game at 1-1 and force extra innings.

Wilson was not given a chance to score in the extra inning thanks to Ayden West’s strong pitching performance. Tyson Foster, the pitcher for Wilson, was under pressure as a result, and in his first at-bat, he hit Wyatt Lassiter to the right after walking Braeden Collins. Off a wild pitch, they both advanced, giving Wayne County a fantastic position. Wyatt was able to steal home to help Wayne win the game 2-1 after Wilson changed pitchers to bring in Tristan Stancil to close the deal.

Post 11 is on the road June 1st against Louisburg and June 2nd in Wilson. Then the following home game for Wayne County is against Kinston on June 6 at 7 p.m.
