Firefighters responded to an early morning accident involving a single vehicle. Firefighters from Dudley Volunteer Fire Department and an EMS unit arrived Sunday morning around 8 am to Kelly Springs Road near Zack Drive to find a white truck resting against a tree in the wood line.
The vehicle was traveling south on Kelly Springs Road when it ran off the right side shoulder then over corrected and came across the road. The truck then ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree at the edge of the wood line.
Firefighters had to use their tools to pop open the passenger side door to free the occupant. The driver of the vehicle was out of the vehicle when emergency personnel arrived on the scene. The driver and passenger were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
