Kimberly Wallace Cox, 54, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Wayne UNC Healthcare. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of Beverly Moore Wallace and the late Bruce Gene Wallace.

In addition to her mother, Kimberly is survived by her husband, Lynwood Martin Cox, Jr.; daughter, Melissa Shannon Hayes; stepchildren, Jenny Cox and Taylor Cox; grandchildren, Kay Kay, Aubrey, Adalyn, and Allison Cox; sister, Melissa Best and husband, Chad; and niece, Laci Best.

Kimberly could oftentimes be seen at the house enjoying a good movie or listening to music. She also loved watching shows like Law and Order and NCIS. When not at home, Kimberly enjoyed spending time at the coast with a fishing pole in hand.

A memorial service to celebrate Kimberly’s life will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online in memory of Kimberly.
