Wings Over Wayne Airshow, crowned “Event of the Year in 2017 will take to the skies Saturday and Sunday.  This exciting two-day event is the largest free air show in North Carolina and part of the community’s legacy.

This year’s event includes Tora Tora Tora, a living history lesson. Volunteers travel the United States teaching the lesson of how the course of U.S. history was changed on December 7th, 1941.

It began when a Tennessee man purchased replicas of Japanese warplanes used in the production of the 1970 20th Century-Fox film, “Tora! Tora! Tora!” He then donated the aircraft to the organization now known as the Commemorative Air Force.

Since 1972, Tora has committed to increasing military aviation history awareness and honoring those lost during Pearl Harbor, more than any other airshow performance group outside of the U.S. Military teams. Tora Tora Tora, strives to create an airshow experience full of passion for aviation history and an educational experience for the next generation.
