A woman died after being shot Tuesday morning. Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department received a call from Kinston Police Department in reference to a shooting around 5:30 am. Kinston Police advised that a female victim had been transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased.
According to the report, a witness to the shooting stated that it occurred in the 3100 block of Cashwell Drive in Goldsboro. Goldsboro Police responded to the area and located the crime scene. The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
The identity of the victim will be released pending notification to family members.
