Doris Elizabeth Finch Heath Martin, at the age of 78, passed away Friday evening, May 12, 2023, in Clayton.

Doris was a former long-time resident of the Mount Olive area.  She, at one time, had operated Something Extra Fashions in Mount  Olive, had been a farm wife, and was an in-home child care provider.  She was a member of the Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home on Saturday, May 20, beginning at 11 a.m. with funeral services to follow at Noon.   A committal service followed by burial will be later in the afternoon at 3 p.m. in the Trenton Town Cemetery in Trenton, NC

Mrs.Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Nathaniel W. Finch and Sara Frances Aycock Finch; her first husband, Ronald Preston Heath; her second husband, Stephen James “S.J.” Martin; an infant daughter, Cyrstal Frances Heath; and a step-son, Kenneth Martin.

She is survived by four children and their spouses, Ronnie and Melissa Heath of Goldsboro, Bobby and Cindy Heath of Goldsboro, Robin Heath and Wyatt Ellis of Pittsboro, and Kathy M. and Kendall Rikard of Goldsboro; another daughter-in-law, Jennifer S. Martin of Mount Olive; two sisters, Sandy Butts and Faye Outland, both of New Bern; two brothers, Nathaniel Finch, Jr. and Don Finch and wife, Sheryl, all of New Bern; grandchildren, Andy Buchanan, Emily Howard and husband, Alex, Randy Heath and wife, Nikki, Melinda Rikard Hart and husband, Harrison, Holly Heath and wife, Jessica Heath, Christine Heath and husband, Chris, Deanne Heath, Angel Ellis, Cheyenne Ellis, Mailee Heath, Kai Alpaca-Christopher, and Meleka Aplaca-Christopher; great-grandchildren, Braylon, Adrianna, Olivia, Abel, Gage, Makenna, Brantley, Travis, and Julius; and several nieces and nephews.
