Landon Choboy of Mount Olive Named National Hitter of the Week by NCBWA

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced that Mount Olive graduate student outfielder Landon Choboy has been chosen as the National Hitter of the Week.

The Conference Carolinas Tournament MVP, Choboy went 10-for-23 at the plate with five homers and 21 RBIs, leading the Trojans to the tournament title. He had three separate three-hit games, while driving in four runs in three games to go along with a nine-RBI effort in a single game. Choboy was 3-for-5 with an RBI in the FMU win, followed by a 3-for-4 effort with a homer and four more RBIs against Belmont Abbey. He then blasted three homers and drove in nine runs against UNCP to send Mount Olive to the title game. Choboy connected on another homer, driving in four more runs in the championship game win over Francis Marion.

Choboy is the fourth Conference Carolinas student-athlete to capture national Player of the Week laurels from the NCBWA.
