May 10, 2023, 82, Mount Olive –

Shirley Ann Branch Hudson, 82, of the Scott’s Store area near Mount Olive, passed away at home Wednesday afternoon, May 10, 2023.

Visitation will be Friday, May 12, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Original Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Mark S. Hobbs, and followed by burial in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.  In lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorial gifts be made to Snow Hill Church.

Mrs. Hudson had been employed with Young Squire Industries as a seamstress and supervisor.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Earl Hudson; a daughter, Lynda Hudson Wood; an infant baby; parents, Horace and Henrietta McGowan Branch; brothers, Bobby Ray Branch, and Lynwood Earl Branch; and sister, Geraldine Menicelli.

She is survived by a daughter, Pat Hudson of Mount Olive; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Stephanie Hudson of the N.C. mountains; grandchildren, Melinda and John Torres, Brittni Wood, Kacey and Brian Carr, Kayla and Robbie Quinn, Kelly Kornegay with Michael Whitman, Heather Hudson, and Hunter Hudson; and great-grandchildren, Devin Torres, Jake Torres, Bella Carr, Rayla Quinn, Emmit Stiles, Elizabeth Whitman, and Emryn Whitman; and her special friends, Barbara Grady, Becky Akiens, Mark and Gracelyn Hobbs, and her church family.
