Juvenile Caught with Weapon of Mass Destruction

Officers with the Goldsboro Police Department discovered a teen with a weapon of mass destruction on May 9th. Officers of the Department’s Housing Unit, Special Enforcement Unit, and Gang Unit were serving a search warrant in the 600 block of Day Circle in reference to an occupant possessing Glock “auto-sears.”  An “auto-sear” is a device that allows semi-automatic handguns to become fully automatic.

During the execution of the search warrant, two “auto-sears” were located inside the residence. The suspect in question was also located on the scene inside the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, in this case, is a 17-year-old juvenile. The juvenile suspect was released to the custody of his mother on the scene. Juvenile petitions for two counts of Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction (F) will be filed through juvenile court at a later date.
