Lynwood Lapo Price, 90, died Wednesday, May 3, 2023.  He lived in the Mount Olive/Seven Springs area.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD BY THE GRAVESIDE AT WAYNE MEMORIAL PARK ON SATURDAY, MAY 13, AT 3:00 P.M.

Lynwood was a graduate of Brogden High School.  After high school, he attended the National School of Meat Cutting which led to a life-long career.  Known for his delicate skills for cutting meat just right, he was employed with A & P Grocery Stores for many years, and after that, he continued to work at several IGA and Piggly Wiggly Grocery Stores.  Lynwood had served in the United States Army and was involved in the Korean War.  By some, he was known as Goosey, and he always tended a garden, growing plenty for sale and giveaway.  Perhaps, of all of his crops, he was known particularly for his collards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Samantha Lane Price; a young daughter, Jennifer L. Jernigan; brothers, Kenneth Price and Carlton Price, and sisters, Lovie P. Holloman, Hilda P. Cotton, and Billie Jean P. Jones.

Lynwood is survived by his wife, Shelby Parks Price, of the home; six children, Karen P. Montague and husband, Barry Montague, of Goldsboro, Lynwood Dean Starr Price of Seven Springs, April Price-Rose and husband, Tim Rose, of Mount Olive, Deborah Jernigan Debnam and husband, Don V. Debnam, of Knightdale, Callie Jernigan Outlaw of Mount Olive, and Edward “Chris” Jernigan and wife, Kim Jernigan, of Elm City; a brother, Warren Price of Raleigh; grandchldren, Nicholas Montague and wife, Joey Montague and wife, Brandon Price, Zachary Price, Landon Price, Aaron Rose, Abby Rose, Sawyer Debnam and husband, Don Hubert Debnam and wife, Daniel Jernigan and wife, Cameron Jernigan, Donathan Anderson and wife, Leslie Outlaw, Cody Outlaw and wife, Chaz Outlaw; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
