Driver Air-Lifted After Single Vehicle Accident

The driver of a Ford Mustang has been airlifted to Vidant as a result of a single-vehicle accident. Sunday night firefighters from Mar-Mac Volunteer Fire Department along with an EMS unit were dispatched to the accident on Old Mount Olive Highway where the driver was possibly ejected.

As emergency personnel arrived on the scene they observed a single vehicle crash where a vehicle had run off the road and crashed through a fence and into one resident’s yard.

The driver of the vehicle was quickly loaded and placed on an EastCare helicopter and taken to Greenville.

The accident is under investigation by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
