Man Critically Wounded in Dudley Shooting

One man is in critical condition after he was shot in the abdomen.  According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies responded to a shooting call at 169 Hack Drive in Dudley.  Once on the scene, Deputies located Luis Fonseca suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Fonseca was transported to ECU Health in Greenville, where he is in critical but stable condition.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Detectives responded to the scene and began investigating. During the course of the investigation, Detectives developed 36-year-old Xavier D. Williams of Goldsboro as a suspect.  With the help of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office patrol and warrant squad members, as well as Probation and Parole, Williams was located and taken into custody. Williams has been charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Intent to Kill.
