Annie Laura Adams Herring, 90, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wayne County on May 11, 1932, she was the daughter of the late James William “Jimmy” Adams and Minerva Turner Adams.

In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Adams.

Annie is survived by her husband of seventy-two years, Albert John “A.J.” Herring; nieces, Tammy Munoz (David), Tracy Little, and Tonya Adams; grand-nephews, Ben Munoz and Ryne Herring (Jessica); great-grand-nieces, Mera Munoz, Addison Herring, and Avery Herring; sisters-in-law, Barbara Price, Sue Adams, and Pansy Herring; and brothers-in-law, Travis Herring and Arthur Herring.

Annie retired from Wachovia Bank after thirty-one years of service. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Daniels Chapel Church.

A service to celebrate Annie’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Rose officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Private interment will be at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Maria Sanchez for the loving care she has provided in recent months.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Wayne Memorial Hospital and Gentiva Hospice, especially Crystal Sutton, for their compassionate care in Annie’s final days.
