Lance Patrick Gardner, 38, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023. Born in Wayne County on June 27, 1984, he was the son of Jon Gardner and Joyce Wilkins Gardner.

A service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. The family suggests those attending the services to please dress in casual attire. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Lance attended Rosewood High School and Wayne Community College. He had previously been employed by McCall’s Restaurant and Shelton’s Harley Davidson. He loved his North Carolina Tar heels and enjoyed time outside fishing and golfing.

In addition to his parents, Lance is survived by his son, Ed Gardner; daughter, River Gardner; sister, Shannon Riddle and husband, Jeremy; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lance was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Madeline Wilkins and Ed and Helen Gardner.
