Fatal Shooting Saturday in Goldsboro

There was another shooting in Goldsboro and this time a 59-year old man died.

Saturday night at approximately 10:26 p.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to an alert from the ShotSpotter gunfire detection system for the 400 block of Brownrigg St.  

 When officers arrived, they found Aubrey Redding Jr., 59, of Goldsboro, in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Redding was taken to UNC Health Wayne for treatment. Mr. Redding was later declared deceased.

The Goldsboro Police Department Investigative Services Bureau was contacted and responded to the scene. This investigation is still developing, and no additional details will be released at this time.

This comes less than a week after a 15-year-old was killed and 5 other teens were shot at a pool party on South Leslie Street in Goldsboro.
