Canadian singer/songwriter and producer Barbra Lica will bring her show to the Paramount this weekend.

Her newest recordings are described as combining elements of Folk, RnB, Indie Pop, Jazz, and Existential Synth (not a real genre). She was named one of Canada’s top upcoming female jazz artists and was the first runner-up in the 2013 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Competition. She is a Juno-nominated singer-songwriter and a seasoned act on the North American club and festival circuits. Barbra has performed everywhere from New York City’s legendary Birdland to Toronto’s prestigious Koerner Hall.

Goldsboro Daily News contacted Lica as she was boarding a plane heading to North Carolina. She describes her music as sharing folk and country influences. Lica writes and performs music on a variety of off-beat topics, including odes to her cat, and excel spreadsheets.
