April 7, 2023, 61, Goldsboro –

Major Eugene Carter, 61, of Goldsboro passed away Friday evening, with his beloved sister by his side at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. He was the son of Shirley Sutton Thigpen and the late Buddy Ray Carter. Mr. Carter was a painter by trade and in his spare time enjoyed watching sports, especially the NFL.

No formal services are planned at this time.

In addition to his mother, Major is survived by a sister, Glenda Faye Carter of Goldsboro; brothers, Johnny Ray Carter of Seven Springs, Archie Bryant Carter of Snow Hill, and Terry Lawton Carter of Pikeville.

In addition to his father, Major is proceeded in death by his girlfriend, Pamela Weeks Weatherspoon.
