On April 9, 2023, at approximately 7:09 a.m., officers with the Goldsboro Police Department responded to 2316 William St. for a call of an unresponsive male lying in the parking lot of Carolina Motel. 

When officers arrived, they discovered a male identified as Gary Lamont Green lying unresponsive in the PVA. EMS responded and pronounced the subject deceased. The Goldsboro Police Department’s Investigative Services Bureau and Crime Scene Unit were contacted and responded to the scene. At this time there is no foul play suspected, and the investigation is ongoing.
