Stephanie Nicole Hill Cherry, a resident of Hubert, N.C., left her disease-stricken 38-year-old body early Sunday morning, April 2, 2023, to spend forever with the Lord.  Death came while she was in the comfort of her home.

Stephanie was a member of the 1996 graduating class of Southern Wayne High School, after which she completed the associate’s degree nursing program at James Sprunt Community College.  She utilized her nursing skills at Lenoir Memorial Hospital in its labor and delivery department and became a care manager with Community Care of North Carolina at the time of her passing.  Stephanie also was a Mary Kay cosmetics consultant.  She worshipped at the 902 Church in Kinston where she was very involved in many of the church’s ministries. 

While Stephanie is beholding the splendors of heaven, she leaves behind the loves of her life, her husband of 19 years, Travis Cherry, and their three children, Henry Clayton Dean Cherry, Hannah Leigh Cherry, and Trent Ellison Cherry, all of the home; her mother and step-father, Becky and Dean Grady of Mount Olive; her father and step-mother, Allen and Malena Hill of Haughton, Louisiana; her siblings, Sarah Elizabeth Hill Willoughby and husband, Jason, of Princeton, William Shane Grady and wife, Alexandra, of Willard, Chelsey Marie Hill, Bradley Allen Hill, and Ashley Jeanine Hill, all of Louisiana; her maternal grandmother, Sarah Smith Long of Kinston; her paternal-grandmother, Hildred Louise Jones of Deep Run; her maternal step-grandmother, Doris “Polly” Grady of Goldsboro; her mother and father-in-law, Jo Ann and Henry Cherry of Mount Olive; a sister-in-law, Patricia Cherry Strickland of Mount Olive; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Charles Long III; her paternal grandfather, Ronald Edward Hill; and her maternal step-grandfather, William Durwood Grady.

A service in which to worship God and celebrate the wonderful life of Stephanie Cherry will be Thursday, April 6, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by Pastor Ryan Vernon, and followed by a time of visitation.
