Michael James Cogar, 49, of 130 Blaire Lane transitioned into eternity on Wednesday at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Michael was born in Clarksburg, WV, to the Kathryn Sue Bennett of Goldsboro and James Doyle Cogar, Sr. of Fremont.
Michael worked as a Pharmaceutical Technician for Walgreen in Smithfield. He became a certified EMT and Firefighter at the age of 18. Michael was also proud to be a 4th-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Evergreen Funeral Chapel followed by the committal in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Shannon Marie Berry officiating. There will be a time a visiting with the family 1 hour prior to the service in Evergreen Chapel.
Along with his parents, he is survived by a brother James Cogar, Jr. of Fremont, a sister Tiffany Cogar Winter and husband Marcus of Pennsylvania, a niece Amber Ranalli and a nephew Dustin Cogar
Michael was preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents Charles Bennett and Blanche Bennett, Paternal grandparents Emory Cogar, Sr. and Verna Cogar, two Aunts Debra Yeager and Debra Cogar, an Uncle Allen Coger, and a Special Cousin Shawn Bunnell.
