Joseph Edward Carter

March 31, 2023, 87, Goldsboro –

Joseph Edward Carter, 87, entered his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family on Friday, March 31, 2023. Joe was born in Wayne County to the late Zenie and Beulah Carter on February 17, 1936.

Joe exhibited ultimate patriotism as a proud veteran of the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he continued supporting our veterans through membership in the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

After his retirement from Daniels Furniture, Joe continued to work part-time installing flooring until his health began to decline.

Serving his Lord faithfully, Joe was a charter member of the United in Christ Church. He also maintained memberships in the Wayne Masonic Lodge 112 A.F. and A.M. where he had served as Past Master, the Scottish Rite in Raleigh, and the Shrine Sudan Temple in New Bern.

Joe loved spending time with his family & his deepest joys could be found in his relationships with his family. He loved and was very appreciative of his wife who stood by him faithfully and took care of him. Joe’s eyes lit up when talking about his son and grandchildren.
