Goldsboro City Council Notes

Goldsboro City Council Notes

The Goldsboro City Council had three absent members last night — and decided to put off a decision on a zoning ordinance change until the full council could meet. At issue is the preferred distance between churches and bars, microbreweries and other similar establishments.

The owner of Church Spirits and Cocktails wants to move his establishment to a location on Mulberry Street across from St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.

The city council heard a presentation by a company hoping to help the city deal with abandoned industrial buildings — especially those which might need environmental work. The federal Environmental Protection Agency has funding available to municipalities needing help with old industrial facilities.

The Elm Street Detail Shop can now offer additional services after a rezoning request was approved.
