Car Show Will Benefit 2-year old La Grange Boy

A car show is planned for Father’s Day weekend to benefit a Lenoir County boy affected by a rare cancer of the eye.

Colby Clayton is the 2 year old son of Spencer and Kristen Clayton of La Grange. He loves dinosaurs and playing with his toy trucks.

Colby has an older brother and sister, Landon and Brookelyn. Landon is 10 years old and Brookelyn is 6 years old.

Colby’s Story

In January 2023, Colby’s mom noticed a strange glare in his eye. After sending a picture to a Doctor friend they rushed Colby to pediatrics and after several hours received the news that he had a very rare and aggressive Retinoblastoma (cancer of his eye).

This aggressive cancer quickly moved to stage 4. He now has a huge team of doctors and specialists at Duke. He is now undergoing systemic chemotherapy.

Colby’s mom gives frequent updates on his progress  on her Facebook page, and friends and family have all started using the hashtag #ColbyStrong in support of Colby and his story.
