Doris Ann Rouse

March 24, 2023, 79, Seven Springs –

November 3, 1943 – March 24, 2023

Doris Ann Rouse passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Friday, March 24, 2023. Doris Ann was born November 3, 1943, in Lenoir County to the late George A Rouse, Sr., and Carrie Stroud Rouse. She is now reunited with the love of her life, her husband for over 48 years, Kenneth Rouse.

Doris Ann was called to be a wife and a mother, and she lived out that calling in everything she did. She stood by her husband’s side in all he sought to do. The two of them made an unbeatable team. What they could dream, they could make happen. This included building a successful farm from scratch. They raised their two boys and loved watching them grow and build lives of their own.

Doris Ann was meticulous in all she did. She took great pride in making sure if something was going to be done, it would be done right. This was a gift to her family, the farm, her church, and the community. She served at Dalys Chapel Church for as long as she physically could. Doris Ann and Kenneth were well-known and respected in the community. They loved the community they were a part of and always sought to give their best.

Dedicated describes Doris Ann’s life. She was a caregiver to her own parents, making sure they had all they needed as long as they lived. She made sure her husband was loved and supported. She took care of her children and found even more joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She was a sweet, kind soul all knew would be there, no matter what. She expressed her love often through her homecooked meals. When Doris Ann cooked, all came. No one wanted to miss out on what she put together. Her loving presence is already missed.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Rouse Funeral Home. Committal will follow at the family cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 27, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Rouse Funeral Home.
