Mrs. Gladys Forehand Goff, 93, died peacefully at her home Sunday morning with her daughters, Nova and Lisa, by her side. A native of Wayne County, Gladys was the firstborn daughter of eight girls (known today as the Forehand girls) to the late Tommy and Maggie Davis Forehand.

Gladys was married to Paul Goff who preceded her in death. Gladys was a “forever” member of Pikeville PFWB Church where she utilized her Christian values in numerous ways. Her greatest gift was being a devoted wife to her husband and a loving mother to her two girls.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service to celebrate Gladys’s life at 3:00 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Whitfield and Rev. Dr. Don Sauls officiating.

Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Goff Pate Kendall and Nova Turnage and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Jonathan Pate and wife, Samatha, Kelsey Pate Blalock and husband, Brooks, and Leigh Turnage Hardison and husband, Austin; sisters, Louise Daw, Margie Daw, Chris Grimes, Atha Howell and husband, Cletus, and Tomi Harris and husband, Larry; seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her sisters, Gatha Martin, and Juanita Bass.
