Betty Edwards Jones, age 82, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023, at Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Edwards and Lois Davis, wife of the late Raymond C. “Buck” Jones, and mother of the late Brian Jones. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Rachel Potter and Jewel Brugh.  She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Mount Olive.

A Service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, March 24, 2023, at 11:00 am, by the graveside at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.  The family will receive family and friends Thursday night, March 23, 2023, between the hours of 7:00 – 9:00 PM at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

She is survived by her sons, Raymond J. (Joe) Jones (Lynne), and Michael Jones (Angie), Daughter-in-law, Tonya Jones; Brother, Gary Pender; Sisters, Delores Denn, Barbara Brock, Hope Kennedy, Diane Ruggieri; Grandchildren, Blake Jones, Dana Hill (Stephen), Raven Pate, Brandy Jones, Candace Jones (Elizabeth), Brook Bing(Jeff), Kaylee Jones; Great Grandchildren, Preston Pate, Lee Jones, Skylar Pate, Brooklyn, Amari, Langston, and Halen Bing.
