Communities Supporting Schools of Wayne County has a mission to keep kids in school.
There are around 100 volunteers working in ten schools in Wayne County — with reading programs in elementary schools and success coaches helping older students.
Selena Bennett — the Executive Director of the organization — says funding the programs is always a challenge.
That’s why the have a Heart for Kids event has increased their sponsorship levels – asking a minimum of $100 contribution for a couple to participate in the March 30th event. It will take place at the firehouse in Goldsboro.
It is the organization’s main fundraiser for the year.
The ticket price includes a reverse raffle ticket and the opportunity to participate in the silent auction.
We are hosting an event that has a different twist this year- NOT the traditional reverse raffle! The sponsorship levels are higher in an effort to increase funding and to receive the challenge grant of $15,000.
The silent auction will be open from 6 to 8 pm, then the reverse raffle will be held at 7:30 pm. Silent auction winners will be announced after the reverse raffle is finished. We will have heavy appetizers, “refreshing spirits to drink,” and LOTS of fun! The winning ticket must be represented to win the $5,000 prize. CSS needs you to help make this a huge success!
