INCIDENT AT 2217 S. Slocumb St. Lot 11

Goldsboro, N.C. — On Saturday, March 11, 2023, at approximately 5:23 p.m., Goldsboro Fire Department units responded to a woods fire endangering structures at 2217 Slocum Street, Lo1 11. Fire units arrived around 5:28 p.m. to find a woods fire that involved two manufactured homes, which spread to another manufactured home and a storage building prior to extinguishment. 

The incident required five fire apparatus, a command unit, and two Staff Chiefs for a total of 17 fire personnel on scene. MarMac Volunteer Fire Department sent a crew and apparatus to staff Station 1 to assist with calls in the City. NC Forestry Service, Duke Energy, and Red Cross were also contacted to assist on scene.

Red Cross relocated four adults and five children due to the incident. Total damages are estimated around $25,000.
